Requirements for Curacao

  • Copy of valid country-issued passports or government-issued driver’s license for both parties (this is the only required document for a symbolic ceremony).

  • Notarized copy of a valid passport for bride & groom with an apostille/ legalization from Netherlands embassy or designated competent authority in your country of residence.

  • Proof of single status via the Registrar Office in your area for bride & groom (not older than 6 months) and with an apostille/ legalization from Netherlands embassy or designated competent authority in your country of residence.

  • Original Birth Certificate with an Apostille/legalization from Netherlands embassy or designated competent authority in your country of residence for bride & groom in long/complete form only (not older than 1 year).

  • Original Divorce Decree with an Apostille/legalization from Netherlands embassy or designated competent authority in your country of residence, if applicable for bride & groom (not older than 6 months). Government / Administrative fee applies (if applicable).

  • Original Death Certificate with an Apostille/legalization from Netherlands embassy or designated competent authority in your country of residence, for either one or both of you are a widow/widower, you need to provide the relevant documents (death certificate), not older than 6 months (if applicable).

  • Residency requirement for symbolic ceremony: 48-hours*

  • Residency requirement for legal ceremony: 72-hours*

  • Administrative fee for symbolic ceremony: US$400.00

  • Marriage license and administrative fee for legal ceremony: US$750.00

*the 48 hours (for symbolic ceremony) and 72 hours (for legal ceremony) residency requirement means that couples can get married in Curaçao 2 or 3 days after arrival. In Curaçao the day of arrival, weekends and public holidays are included in the residency period. The wedding day is not included in the residency period.

- Public holidays in Curaçao do not influence the earliest wedding day mentioned in the table above, as long as the wedding day is not a public holiday. No weddings on Sundays or public holidays.

- Final payment on wedding options is due sixty (60) days prior to arrival.

- Cancellations made at least forty-five (45) days prior to arrival are fully refundable, except for non-refundable items including but not limited to certain deposits, administrative fees, custom third-party vendor items, external event suppliers and photography, entertainment, etc.

- Floral Purchases are NON-REFUNDABLE or transferable if cancelled within 45 days of arrival.

- Cancellations made 44-31 days prior to arrival will receive of 50% refund, except for non-refundable items listed above.

- Cancellations made 30 days or less prior to arrival are non-refundable.

- For legal weddings: all original documents must have an apostille/legalization from Netherlands embassy or designated competent authority in your country of residence at least 3 months prior, and no more than 6 months prior to your arrival date for wedding confirmation.

- For symbolic weddings: please upload a copy of valid country-issued passports or government-issued driver’s license for both parties at least 60 days prior to arrival; and hand carry a valid country-issued passports or government-issued driver’s license for both partners or marriers.
